Of rich blue, brown and ochre clays, the domed cover with recumbent Buddhistic lion finial and moulded with concentric bands of leaf-tips, the lower part moulded with a band of scallop shells alternating with S-scrolls, broken by large gadrooned bosses, a band of key-pattern and a fuRther band of shells and gadrooned fans (cover cracked, extended firing crack to base, glaze chips to interior of base)--12in. (30.5cm.) diam.
