CIRCA 1770, BLUE SQUARE SEAL MARK TO BASKET AND STAND

Of quatrefoil shape and with twig handles with flower terminals, painted in colours in the interior with gilt mirror-shaped cartouches of exotic birds, flowers, butterflies and insects reserved on the blue-scale ground, the exterior moulded with cell-pattern enclosing pink flowerheads, the cover and stand pierced (some chips, restored chips)--10in. (25.5cm.) wide
