Accordingly, no sales tax is due on the purchase price of these lots if they are picked up or delivered in the State of New York. However, a compensating use tax is due from the buyer is these lots are shipped to New Jersey or to any of the following states where Christie's maintains offices: Carlifornia, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Washington, D.C.
