First and only(?) edition by the Frankfurt physician Janus Cornarius (1500-1558), editor of Hippocrates and translator of other medieval medical texts. The Macer Floridus poem with Cornarius's commentary make up parts 1-3, part 4 contains a spurious addition of 20 chapters, and part 5 consists of a verse tract in 743 hexameters by Marbodus, bishop of Rennes (d. 1123), on the healing properties of precious stones.
