A FINE LOUIS XV ORMOLU CARTEL CLOCK WITH BRACKET
GUDIN À PARIS, THE CASE ATTRIBUTED TO JACQUES CAFFIERI

Surmounted by two putti, the case and bracket boldy cast and chased with leafy scrolls and oak leaves, white enamel dial with arabic minute numerals enclosing roman chapters, gilt leafy hands, the timepiece movement between shaped rectangular plates with baluster pillars, verge escapement with adjustable potence, thread suspension to pendulum, pull quarter repeat on two bells, c. 1740--34½in. (87.5cm.) high
