FIRST AND ONLY EDITION. Woodcut device on title, woodcut headpiece and initial on a2, 40 engraved plates. The errata corrected neatly in contemporary pen and ink.

"Father Plumier, a Franciscan born at Marseilles, made three visits to America...On the third he visited Guadeloupe, Martinique, and the coast of Brazil; and the published result was Nova plantarum Americanarum genera" (Hunt). The Catalogus, occupying 21 pages, lists several hundred new species.
