First modelled in 1754 by Fernex after designs by Boucher for Madame de Pompadour's dairy at the chateau de Crécy; this figure would appear to depict Madame Favart in a scene from a popyular play es Amours de Bastien et Bastienne. Similar examples are in the Wrightsman collection and in the Palazzo Pitti, see Eriksen Le Porcellane Francesi a Palazzo Pitti, no. 28.
