The King, his head slightly turned to the right in armor, sash and cloak with the star of the order of St. Esprit, on separate circular socle base (repair to his bow, minor chip to socle)--13in. (33cm.) high

Lot Essay

A reduction of the original marble bust by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, first modelled in 1760. There were two sizes, of which this is the larger.
