Lot Essay

Svend Eriksen, Le Porcellane Francesi a Palazzo Pith. Florence, 1973, figs. 37-42, illustrates and discusses several pieces of form from a service of this date and pattern recorded at Parma in 1802 and now scattered. It was delivered by the Paris dealer Testard in 1769 and included 180 plates and 24 comptiers. The present lot may well have been part of this service.
