A SÈVRES JEWELLED OVIFORM TEAPOT AND COVER (THÉIÈRE CALABRE)
CIRCA 1785, GILT INTERLACED L'S AND GILDER'S MARK OF VINCENT

Decorated with a scrolling frieze of foliage centered alternately on pink and turquoise and red flowers between alternate bands of red cabochons and red and green berried laurel, the frieze repeated on the cover between two bands of cabochons and with gilt flower finial--5¼in. (14cm.) high

Lot Essay

Henri-François Vincent was active at Vincennes and Sèvres from 1753 to 1800.

The delicate transparent enamel decoration on this lot which in so many other instances, has suffered has survived in remarkably good condition.
