FIRST EDITION. Stipple-engraved frontispiece portrait of C.A. Thory, 8-page text describing the species, two full-page aquatint plates of the "Rosa Redutea glauca" (in two states: uncolored, and delicately hand-colored), bound with an 8-page "Extrait de la Bibliotheque Universelle. Tome IV. April 1817," comprising a review of the Thory/Redouté's collaboration, Les Roses, which began publication in 1817. Stafleu & Cowan 14.293 (not recording the plate in both states).
