In the form of an urn draped with floral garlands, flanked on either side by maidens in classical dress and a putto, the shaped oval base incorporating frieze chased with putti personifying music and applied with leafy scrolls, the signed circular white enamel dial with roman chapters and arabic minute numerals within glazed corded bezel and ribbon tied floral swag, pierced gilt fleur-de-lis hands, the movement with anchor escapement, pendulum with thread suspension, striking the hour and half hour on bell by means of crossed out countwheel, c. 1780--22½in. (57cm.) high
