The bowl well carved in shallow relief with a band of taotie masks set below raised masks and ingot-shaped flanges and separated by scrolled handles issuing from monster masks at the rim, the domed cover similarly decorated below a band of petal lappets encircling the petal-carved knop, the translucent stone softly polished and with some opaque buff and dark brown mottling--6 1/2 in.(16.5cm.) across
