The faceted shaft inlaid in gold with an allover pattern of hooked and 'T' scrolls, and down the center with a series of lozenges inlaid at the interstices with turquoise cabochons, the background filled in with further turquoise, with a small dragon-head hook at one end and a circular button on the underside, restored near hook, some losses to inlay--7 1/2 in. (19cm.) longh

A very similar example in the Freer Gallery of Art is illustrated by Lawton, Chinese Art of the Warring States Period, Catalogue, 1982, no. 48, where he notes that related garment hooks have been unearthed in Warring States period tombs in the Luoyang area.
