A SILVER BOWL AND TWO PIERCED DESSERT STANDS, the first maker's mark of Whiting, circa 1888, shaped circular, on short foot, the broadly fluted sides with shaped rim chased with interlocking leaves, divided by slender flutes, the plain center engraved with initials and dates 1863 1888--8in. (20.3cm.) wide; the first stand--maker's mark of Black, Starr & Frost, 1876-1929, the solid center of the circular bowl monogrammed, the remainder pierced with lozenges divided by flowerhead band and foliate band, with applied husk and foliate rim, on raised circular foot with pierced band--11in. (27.9cm.) diam.; the other, circular, on short foot, the solid center initialled within tied wreath below variously pierced bands--10¾in. (27.3cm.) diam., 46.5oz.
