A FIVE PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, maker's mark of George B. Sharp, circa 1850, retailed by Bailey & Co., comprising teapot, coffee pot, two handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, each shaped ovoid with slightly waisted neck, on four paw feet with stylized shell join, the base of the body fluted, two sides chased with asymetrical scroll and rocaille cartouche, one initialled, the chased mid band below hung with husk festoons, the remainder chased with flowering foliage, the pots with part decorated spout and scroll handle, with curling everted die rolled rim, the hinged partly domed cover also chased and topped by cast melon finial--the coffee pot 13in. (33cm.) high, gross weight 155oz.
