The Eighth Exhibition of the Japan Ivory Carver's Association, Ueno, Tokyo, 1985, listed in the catalogue as a 'classic work'. Included in the same exhibition was a large selection of the Go Collection loaned by the Tokyo National Museum.
Lot Essay
Hosaka Kozan was a pupil of Ishikawa Komei active in the mid to late Meiji Period and a prominent member of the Japan Ivory Sculptor's Association.
