Forwarded by Davis & Brothers Express, mostly bold brownish-black double-lined oval express company marking, used with straight line 'New Garden, I0ndian)a.' postmark with ms. date and '10', pencil ms. '($)1.50' express company charge, to Marysville Cal., light edgewear and insignificant rubber band stain, still quite fresh and very fine, rare, possibly the only recorded copy, it is supposed this company operated between Quincy and Honey Lake around 1858, and in 1862 from Oroville to Susanville, illustrated in Nathan
