'Russian River Cal.' and 'Paid 3c', to Camptonville Cal., enclosed letter datelined Dec. 20, 1856, domestic contents, worn cover corners and edgewear, part top backflap missing, still intact and nearly fine, very scarce, only four examples recorded, this express operated from Camptonville to the surrounding mining areas, 1856-1857, Russian River became Healdsburg Cal., illustrated in Nathan where the color is mistakenly called black, ex Wiltsee, Pearce
