A STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE COMMEMORATIVE DUTCH-DECORATED BOWL
Circa 1787
Painted with an equestrian portrait of Prince William V of Orange flanked by the letters 'PW' and 'D5', the vignette within a foliate scroll cartouche, 5¾in. (15cm.) diam.; together with a polychrome Dutch Delft portrait plate of the same monarch, the prince's bust to left below the inscription 'Siet wat hier van agteren staat', the reverse inscribed 'Bit voor in vorst wendt hem geen kwat', 9in. (22.9cm.) diam. (2)
