A GEORGE III SILVER EWER AND COVER, London, 1776, maker's mark of William Gould, the vase shaped body with waisted neck, on short stemmed square base, the body engraved with crest within circular foliate cartouche, with beading to the base, shoulder and rim, the wood scroll handle with beaded acanthus joins, the partly domed hinged cover topped by urn finial--12¾in. (32.3cm.) high, gross weight 24.5oz.
