A GROUP OF FIVE ENGLISH SILVER MUGS, with maker's marks of, comprising: the first two London, the remainder Birmingham, 1858, 1887 & 1904, three baluster with leaf capped scroll handles-- the first bearing marks for 1762, maker's mark WC, later chased with flowering foliate scrolls enclosing a scroll and rocaille cartouche engraved W-C-F from J-C; the second--1872, J. Barnett & W. Waters, chased with flowering foliate scrolls enclosing, on each side, a vacant cartouche; the third similar, the fourth vase shaped, chased with flowering foliate scrolls enclosing two vacant cartouches, with undulated rim, the fifth baluster, chased with foliate scrolls and swirls enclosing a vacant scroll cartouche; together with an unmarked example and a modern plated example--weighable silver 20.5oz.
