A SILVER THREE PIECE TEA SERVICE, makers' mark of J & I Cox, and John Chandler Moore, and with pseudo hallmarks, New York, circa 1840, comprising teapot, sugar bowl and cover, and milk jug, each octagonal compressed urn form, on raised octagonal chased foot, the body chased with panels of scroll enclosed flowers and scrolls and rocaille, one engraved with initials, with part engraved scroll handle, the teapot with decorated spout, the hinged raised cover with conforming decoration and topped by baluster finial--9¼in.
