Depicting King James II and Queen Mary of Modena in a landscape with symbols of the Union comprising the fleur-de-lys of France, the harp of Ireland, the thistle of Scotland and the Tudor rose of England, with cypher 'IR' above his crown, the landscape with grape vines, cherub, flowers and a lion and stag on a hilly knoll, worked in cross-stitch with purl stitch details, within a Georgian parcel-gilt and ebonized frame, bearing the printed paper label of dealers Ginsburg & Levy, New York
