All with deep excellent color and chipped ceramic capsules; in first four lots all with levels 2" below cork and fragmented labels; last lot one of six level 2" below cork with fragmented labels only, three of six with levels 2¼" below cork and with labels nicked and faded, yet legible, two of six with levels 2½" below cork and fragmented labels
"Magnificent. Four good notes, most recently, (in magnum) medium-deep, lovely warm, broad, autumnal colour with fine gradation to mature, mahogany-hued rim; ripe, rich, classic 'beetroot' Pinot, gentle fragrant, sustained bouquet; very sweet, fairly full-bodied, fleshy, lovely flavour. Seemed to grow richer in the glass. Perfect tannin and acidity." JMB
