Château Latour--Vintage 1966
Pauillac, 1er cru classé.
Neck levels in the first lot, levels of two high-to-top-shoulder and four top-shoulder in the second lot; all with excellent color and clean labels
"Original opacity toned down a little, plummy, starting to show
some maturity; nose hard at first but opens up richly, fine, firm
fruit, spicy, cedary; touch of ripe sweetness soon overtaken by
dry, leathery tannins. Huge; beefy; sinewy; full of fruit. Great
length; unready. Needs at least 10 years and will surely last
another 50." JMB
