High-shoulder level, deep amber color, label torn and faded
"I am a great admirer of Climens and this must be its greatest-ever vintage. A wonderful deepish amber gold colour with green rim; soft, marvellous bouquet, far more crème and far less brûlée than most old dessert wines, touch of mint leaf, consistently sweet, rich and fat but not hefty or unctuous, with acidity performing like a discreet accompanist. Perfect. My last note is dated March 1983, but I re-live it endlessly. Five stars." JMB
