Pennsylvania, 1800-1820
The first, circular and carved with integral cylindrical grip on verso, the front carved with a stylized tulip in a conforming sawtooth, incised and chip carved surround; the second, circular with integral cylindrical handle on edge, the one side carved with an intaglio pinwheel with "SMSW" incised in between, the whole enclosed in a sawtooth chip-carved surround, the opposite side carved with a stylized intaglio tulip centering the initials "CW" below two large stars
