Hannah Scanlon, Mid-Atlantic States, circa 1836
Worked in four horizontal registers in red, cream, green, blue and black threads and inscribed at the top with an upper and lower case alphabetical register over stylized tulip, flowering tree, basket, and human figures, flanked on either side by abstracted tall flowering bush-trees over a plain horizontal stitched band above an inscribed verse over abstracted potted flowering plants, a house and bird, stitched at left base, "Hannah Scanlon/July the 23 (?) 183 (?)"
