Of rectangular form, decorated on the cover in takamaki-e on a kinji ground with the large figure of Benkei balancing on his 'bronze' bell, the sides of the cover and box decorated with various musical instruments, the interior nashiji, fitted with a rectangular tray on bracket feet with a design in togidashi, kirigane, gold takamaki-e and various details, with a teahut, blossoming trees and hills- 7 3/4 x 5 3/4 x 2 3/4 in. (19.7 x 14.7 x 7 cm.), extensive cracks and chips
