A CONTEMPORARY VASE
20TH CENTURY, KAWAI KANJIRO (1890-1966)

The tall double-rectangular section vase decorated above the foot and at the mouth with a wide band of iron brown echoed at the edges of each of the four sides, the midsection further decorated in underglaze blue and copper red with a large stylized floral spray on each of the wide sides and on each of the narrow sides with a single copper red and iron brown floret, all reserved on a white ground finished with a fine crackle and transparent glaze- 7 5/8 in. (19.5 cm.)
