The moulded rectangular base with pierced frieze of leafy scrolls and laurel leaves to corners, supporting clock case on chased billowy cloud, flanked by arrow, shield and feathered helmet on one side and Cupid with sword and bows and arrow on the other, the gadrooned bezel enclosing white enamel dial, roman chapters and arabic minute numerals, pierced gilt leafy scroll hands, the associated movement with tic tac escapement, pendulum with Brocot suspension, striking the hour and half-hour on bell by means of crossed-out countwheel, c. --12in.
