A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED ACAJOU MOUCHETÉ BUREAU À CYLINDRE
LATE 18TH CENTURY, STAMPED F. SCHEY
With three quarter pierced-galleried inset rectangular Carrara marble top above a panelled frieze fitted with three short drawers, each with beaded encadrements and tasseled pulls above a cylinder enclosing two open compartments, two short and three sham drawers centering a tambour compartment above a sliding inset- leather writing panel, the kneehole surrounded by three short drawers and a further drawer panelled to simulate two and enclosing a coffre fort, each side fitted with a slide, on circular tapering stop-fluted legs headed by engine-turned brass panels and ending in similarly turned sabots - 46½in. (123cm.) high, 57in. (145cm.) wide, 29in. (74cm.) deep
