PARIS, CIRCA 1845, MAKER'S MARK OF MAISON ODIOT, THE SUGAR TONGS MAKER'S MARK SH, THE TRAY MAKER'S MARK CB

Comprising kettle on lamp stand, teapot, sugar bowl, cream jug and sugar tongs; the fluted baluster bodies elaborately chased with vertical acanthus, on openwork rocaille supports and with acanthus scroll handles, the spouts with elaborate and stylized bird-form terminals, and with flower-form finials, the kettle with overhead foliate swing handle, engraved with a crest, fully marked--height of kettle on stand 15in. (38cm.); the shaped oblong tray with two laurel and acanthus handles, the rim chased with flutes with patera, acanthus, laurel and vacant cartouches at intervals, elaborately engraved with foliate scrolls and strapwork enclosing a monogram, marked on reverse--length over handles 29in.
