AMSTERDAM, 1778, MAKER'S MARK OF JOHANNES HERMANNS LOGERATHR
Of oval bombe form, the base chased with a broad band of gadrooning and with spiral fluting above, applied front and back with laurel wreaths, one enclosing an engraved crest, with two hinged openwork scroll turned wood handles, the domed cover with similar decoration and cast pomegranate finial, marked under base--length over handles 18in. (46cm.)
