Of cylindrical form with slip-on cylindrical cover, the paneled sides chased with vertical bands of laurel at intervals and with acanthus scroll borders, the base and cover with oval cartouches front and back enclosing harvesting tools, musical instuments and foliage on a matted ground, the domed cover with similar foliate decoration on top, the base with a seal matrix of accole coats-of-arms surmounted by a coronet, marked on body and cover; struck with the charge and discharge of Jean-Baptishe Fouache and Dominique Compant--4 7/8in. (12.3cm.) long
