The inkwell on incurved tri-form pedestal base, joined with an oblong pen holder on two bead feet, with stiff leaf rim, the join with acanthus scroll decoration, the circular inkwell on three paw supports terminating in winged putti, with similar stiff leaf rim and acanthus bud drop, the hinged domed cover with similar finial, the interior with removable fitted well cover, marked on body, cover, well cover and pen holder, stamped under the base WATHERSON, LONDON--6 1/2in. (16.5cm.) high
