Each of shaped circular form with a gadrooned rim, engraved on both sides of border with a drapery swag cartouche and engraved ARTHUR'S CLUB, 69 JAMES'S STRT, marked under bases and stamped on borders with inventory numbers 1 and 3--11 1/8in. (28.2cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

Arthur's Club at 69 St. James's Street, London, was founded in 1811, with membership at that time limited to members of the Royal Family and their households. A tea tray of 1820 by Paul Storr from the same club was sold Christie's, New York, October 25, 1988, lot 227.
