drypoint in brownish-black, 1930, on laid paper, a fine impression with delicate tone, the rare first state (of two) before the reduction of the plate, signed in pencil and inscribed 'imp.', inscribed 'trial proof--No 2 before cutting plate' and 'additional work on farther buildings--changed arms & hands of child also added work on figures in foreground-- proof on Whatman paper--Frankfort black & little brn't sienna--', one of only a few proofs in this state, with full margins, in excellent condition
