A SIX PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, maker's mark of Bigelow Bros. & Kennard, Boston, circa 1845-63, comprising two handled tea kettle on stand (no lamp), teapot, coffee pot, two handled covered sugar bowl, milk jug, and two handled waste bowl, each vase form, on molded raised oval foot, engraved with script initial R, engraved above with band of opposing S scroll enclosing leaf flanked by futher strap scroll and foliage, above engraved with anthemion within undulating scrolls on finely reeded ground, geometrically engraved collar, the pots with harp form handle, highly upcurved spout, the raised hinged cover topped by gliding swan finial, the oval kettle stand on four lion's hairy leg and paw supports with anthemion apron between, the twice chained kettle with partly reeded spout and openwork scroll handle--height of kettle on stand 14¾in.
