A SIX PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, maker's mark of Whiting, comprising tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, waisted plain necked coffee pot, two handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, each compressed circular, monogrammed, the short circular base on four stylized foliate talon feet, the body chased with bands of vertical reeds at intervals, above applied with shell centered foliate scrolls, with applied bold beaded rims, the pots with part foliate scroll handle with foliate shell join, with elaborate bird's head and foliate upraised spout, the partly raised hinged cover chased with radiating leaves and topped by beaded foliate finial, the teakettle with overhead swing handle, the twice chained circular stand with openwork basket weave apron to the shoulder--the tea kettle on stand over handle 12in. (30.4cm.) high, gross weight 184.5oz. (6)
