A CONTINENTAL SILVER MOUNTED COCONUT STANDING CUP, probably German, late 19th Century, the crimped rimmed, partly domed circular base chased with panels of elephant, monkey and alligator divided by foliate scrolls, the stem formed as a Blackamoor holding a lizard, rising to curled scroll and palmette canopy above, supporting the coconut shell, applied three times with herme strap, divided by stylized foliage below, attached to waisted cylindrical neck flat chased with stylized foliage below band of paterae and leaves within strapwork, with plain rim--13in. (33cm.) high
