A PAIR OF SILVER SAUCE TUREENS, bearing marks for London, 1776, maker's mark of Thomas Evans, chased later, each deep oval on plain spreading circular foot, the sides chased with flowering foliate clusters and C scrolls on matted ground, with two foliate joined drop ring handles, the partly raised cover similarly chased with broad band, spoon cut out, the artichoke finial on radiating palmette calyx on plain ground, with applied beaded borders--6¾in. (17.1cm.) high, 37oz.
