A GEORGE III SILVER WAITER, London, 1790, maker's mark of Benjamin Montique, (see Grimwade, p. 387), navette-form, on four openwork scroll feet, the center engraved with crest within octagon, enclosed by scrolling foliage, scrolls, dome and plumes, all within bright-cut interlocking flowers and scroll band, engraved arcading to the molded border, with applied reeded rim, the underside of base with later inscription--7¼in. (18.4cm.) long, 4.5oz.
