A GEORGE III SILVER MUG AND A CHINESE EXPORT GOBLET, the mug, London, 1817, maker's mark apparently that of William Bateman, the goblet, maker's mark of Wang Hing, Hong Kong, late 19th Century, the slightly tapering cylindrical mug engraved with two bands of hoops, with scroll handle--4½in. (11.4cm.) high, the goblet on raised, flowering branch chased, circular foot, rising to cylindrical stem divided by fluted knop, supporting the body chased with shaped panels of flowering branches, a scholar with vacant shield above, bamboo, and dragons--6¾in. (17.1cm.) high, 17.5oz. (2)
