A SILVER TWO HANDLED CUP AND COVER, bearing marks for Dublin, circa 1780, maker's mark of Matthew West, decorated later, inverted pear shaped, on short stemmed raised circular foot, chased with acanthus band, the lower body chased with rocaille flutes, repousse and chased with broad frieze of continuous flowers, foliage and fruit, the front with vacant shield shaped cartouche within rocaille and foliate scrolls flanked by festoons, with two leaf capped multi scroll handles, the molded high domed cover chased with acanthus band, the dome chased and engraved with flowers, foliage and rocaille and topped by foliate pineapple finial--13¼in.
