According to Professor Annie-Paul Quinsac, it is possible this painting was exhibited in 1862 at the Societe des Artistes in Bordeaux. The work was also part of an atelier sale at the Petit Auction in 1900 in Paris.

This painting will be accompanied by a photo-certificate dated July 12, 1989 stating that the painting will be included in the Rosa Bonheur catalogue raisonné which is in preparation.
