Of rectangular shape decorated in iro-e takamaki-e, gold togidashi and inlaid aogai on a roiro ground with a peasant family caught in a sudden shower, a man, and a woman carrying a child, covering their heads with a straw mat and a winnowing basket as they hurry along a path through a rice field, the path continuing beneath a willow tree on the reverse, interior cases nashiji; fitted with coral bead ojime and an ivory netsuke carved as a sparrow perched atop a lotus leaf
