The large rectangular inro lacquered in iro-e takamaki-e, with a Nio standing between two red temple gate-pillars, the guardian inlaid in gilt soft-metal brandishing a vajra, set against a brown lacquer ground with tile and latticework patterns designed in gold hiramaki-e, the reverse with Kannon descending in a kinji cloud, holding a lotus and surrounded by a mandorla and scattered lotus blossoms, interior cases nashiji; fitted with a coral bead ojime and an ivory kagamibuta netsuke, the metal plate incised with a design of the moon and waves, signed Masamitsu
