YI DYNASTY (19TH CENTURY), CYCLICALLY DATED 1824

The narrow disc body set on a high lozenge foot with high, cylindrical neck and rolled lip, painted in underglaze blue with two large roundels framed by a blue line border, one of a crane flying beneath the sun and chevron-shaped clouds over pines and tall stands of flowers, the other of a crane beside bamboo and plum branches, one shoulder painted with foliate ribbon scroll and the other inscribed with the date, the foot outlined by a matching blue line, finished overall with a glossy transparent glaze- 5 1/4 in. (13.4 cm.) high, fitted wood box
